India has always been popular for various reasons amongst the global arena. One of the reasons for the popularity is Ayurveda, a traditional medicinal system. Although the concept of Ayurveda was developed about 5000 years ago in India, this ‘science of life’, as referred by the specialists is gaining importance in today’s scenario.

In other words, there is not only a growing impact of Ayurveda awareness but many people are also benefitting by undergoing the Ayurveda treatments in India. Its importance is due to the fact that this oldest mode of treatment enables a person to not only live a balanced life but also enjoy a long healthy life. It is often said that, ‘we are what we eat’, and it is a fact that most of the problems are faced by the human body due to the absence of the balanced diet. Ayurveda helps to maintain that balance of life though the use of various herbs.

In the year 2012, a festival, viz. Global Ayurveda Festival was organized in Kerela by the Centre for Innovation in Science & Social Action (CISSA). This was a collective effort by the Kerela government and the Government of India. Many specialists from Ayurveda Fraternity of Kerala attended the festival. The main objective of the festival was to bring the awareness about Ayurveda, develop strategies to provide better treatment and achieve an overall growth of Ayurveda in India. The impact is overwhelming as almost 80% of people in India use Ayurvedic medicines.

During Feb’ 2015, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Mr. Oommen Chandy, proudly said, “Ayurveda — the oldest method of cure as an important industry has extensive scope of growth and certain areas within Ayurveda needs to be advanced to promote its growth in India.”

The statistics clearly show that the Indian herbal industry is expected to achieve a remarkably 7000 crores of business by the year 2020. The Indians are following the Ayurveda and using the medicines as they are achieving permanent cure to the illness and that too with no side effects. It is further expected that due to the growing impact of Ayurveda in India, there will be a lot of Ayurvedic centres, hospitals as well as educational institutes in different states of India.

Apart from the efforts mentioned above, there is an important Ayurvedic entity, viz. JIVA, which is constantly contributing to the growth and impact of Ayurveda in India as well as abroad. The institute was established in the year 1992 in Faridabad. JIVA provides customer-centric facilities with a variety of treatments including herbal remedies, relaxing messages and therapeutic treatments with great purity, efficacy and quality. The staff and the environment are very warm and user-friendly. Almost all the people, who have visited JIVA once, have undergone a tremendous transformation in their lives.

Last but not least, Ayurveda is not only emerging but is also being recognized by the masses. Moreover, the usage of Ayurvedic medicines is gaining more popularity in India and is being readily accepted worldwide.
